4th of July Fireworks on Harriet Island - Saint Paul, MN

Harriet Island is normally a very cool place to hang out in the summer, and 99 times out of 100 your trip to the park feels like a safe one. This 4th of July, however, it happened to be that one in a hundred exception. There were thugged-out wanna-be gangstas EVERYWHERE causing drama. We witnessed two violent gang beat-downs in the span of 20 minutes, right in the center of the Taste of Minnesota. Giant waves of fleeing by-standers nearly caused a stampede. It was pretty hairy. Girls screaming. Police pepper-spraying... Why can't people just come together for an event and enjoy it?

At least the fireworks were spectacular.
